All of the above will deflect the ball off line and not allow you to learn how to putt better

Green Reading
Green reading is a skill and takes practice. It is tedious and boring but goes hand in hand with speed control and learning how to putt better.
In general, on the bigger breaking putts, double your initial read which will allow gravity to pull the ball closer to the hole. On the shorter putts inside 6', pick a tiny spot inside the hole to focus on and commit to it
